Remote Customer Support Job Alert: Marvin is Hiring a Customer Support Engineer (₹9L–₹12L)

If you’ve been hunting for a solid remote job that lets you work from your hometown while earning a genuinely competitive salary, here’s one worth paying attention to. Marvin, a fast-growing AI research startup, is looking for a Customer Support Engineer to join their team — fully remote, open to candidates across India.

Let’s break down why this role stands out and whether it’s the right fit for you.

What’s the Company About?

Marvin builds AI-powered research tools and has already raised over $10 million in funding, including a recent seed round. It’s a lean, early-stage startup (51–200 employees) with roots in Oakland and a growing presence in Delhi. Being early-stage means you’ll likely have more visibility, faster growth, and closer interaction with the founding team compared to a large corporate support floor.

The Role: What You’ll Actually Be Doing

This isn’t your typical copy-paste, script-reading support job. As a Customer Support Engineer at Marvin, you’ll be the frontline problem-solver for users of their AI product. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Responding to customer queries over chat and email with speed and professionalism
  • Digging into technical issues, spotting bugs, and guiding users through fixes
  • Escalating tricky cases to the engineering team with clear, well-documented context
  • Logging customer feedback, bugs, and feature requests systematically
  • Helping build out help center articles and internal documentation
  • Educating users on getting the most out of the product

In short, this role sits somewhere between customer support and technical support — which makes it a great stepping stone if you eventually want to move into product, technical support engineering, or customer success roles.

What They’re Looking For

Marvin wants someone with at least 4–5 years of experience in customer or technical support, ideally within a SaaS environment. Beyond experience, they’re prioritizing:

  • Strong written and verbal English communication
  • The ability to troubleshoot software issues independently
  • Comfort working night shifts to align with Pacific Time (since the core team operates out of the US)
  • A calm, empathetic approach to handling frustrated users
  • Solid documentation habits

Familiarity with tools like Intercom, HubSpot, or JIRA is a bonus, and if you’ve dabbled with debugging tools, logs, or APIs, that’ll work in your favor too.

The Catch: Night Shifts and No Visa Sponsorship

Since this is a India-based remote role supporting a US company, expect to work in alignment with Pacific Time — which typically means night shifts from India. Visa sponsorship isn’t offered, and relocation isn’t part of the deal either, so this is strictly a remote-from-India opportunity.

Should You Apply?

If you already have hands-on experience in SaaS customer support and don’t mind flipping your sleep schedule for a well-paying, high-growth startup role, this is a strong opportunity. The pay range (₹9–12 LPA) is well above average for support roles in India, and working at a funded AI startup means you’ll pick up skills that are increasingly in demand across the industry.

However, if you’re just starting out in customer support with little to no SaaS experience, this particular role might be a stretch — but it’s a great benchmark to work toward. Focus on building experience with support tools, sharpening your written communication, and gaining exposure to basic technical troubleshooting so you’re ready when similar roles open up.
